About vineyard and vineyard manager
James Wilkins comes from a long line of farmers. His passion for wine started from when he was young working in the vineyard with his father. His family has been farming since 1918 and plans on passing the tradition down to his son James junior. His 160 acre vineyard produces wonderful cabernet sauvignon, Zinfandel, Syrah and merlot in Paso Robles California.

Grizzly Republic Winery
Original wine maker was a consultant for several wineries near Napa. He decided in 2004, to start making his own wine. So they gave him a corner in one of the wineries he was working for. Everyone started calling it the Grizzly corner because wine maker is 6’5” tall and about 300 lbs. He is also 6th generation Californian, so that is where the Grizzly Republic name came from.
